Service Updates for Labour Day in Simcoe County

For local towns and townships, waste collection will continue as there are no changes to the county’s pickup schedule.

MIDHURST – The County of Simcoe wants to inform residents about the following schedule changes for Labour Day on Monday, Sept. 7:

Curbside waste collection and waste drop-off facilities

Waste collection is ongoing since there are no changes to the County’s waste collection schedule. All County waste drop-off facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7 except for the Matchedash facility, which will be open from 8:30 a. m. to 4:30 p. m.

LINX Transit

LINX Transit services will not operate on Sept. 7 (with Route 4 being the exception).   Route 4 will only run a Sunday schedule on Monday, Sept. 7.   Return to regular service for all routes will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Please click here to check all route schedules.

County Administration Centre (Midhurst) and Service Simcoe Contact Centre

The Administration Centre, including the Service Simcoe Contact Centre, will be closed to the public on Monday, Sept. 7.

Ontario Works and Children Services

All Ontario Works and Children Services offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7.

Lake Simcoe Regional Airport

The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport will operate normally on Monday, Sept. 7.

Simcoe County Museum

The Museum will be open during its regular hours (10 a. m. to 4:30 p. m.) on Monday, Sept. 7.

Simcoe County Archives

The Archives will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7.

The County of Simcoe includes sixteen member municipalities and provides essential public services to residents in addition to offering paramedic and social services to Barrie and Orillia.
