WATERLOO, ONTARIO – Authorities report that a woman has lost her life after being struck by a light rail train in Waterloo, Ont.
Waterloo regional police indicate that the tragic incident occurred Saturday night near Dutton Drive in the northern part of the city.
At the scene, officers discovered a pedestrian who had been hit by an ION train.
Despite efforts to save her, the woman was pronounced dead at the location.
The police are looking into the crash, and so far, no charges have been filed.
The ION light rail service operates across 19 stops linking the northern area of Waterloo with the southern part of Kitchener.
