Lois Ferne Mc Cutcheon, a valued member of the Dwight community and a friendly business owner, passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 19, 2026. Born on May 13, 1959, in Owen Sound, Ontario, Lois dedicated her life to her family, her community, and the things she loved.
She ran her own business, Cottage Maintenance and Cleaning, where her dedication to quality and care for her clients shone through each day. In addition to being an entrepreneur, she actively participated in local events and was affectionately seen as the go-to person in Dwight. Her warm personality and readiness to help others made her beloved by many and left a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Lois had many hobbies that brought her happiness. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding her ATV with her loyal companion Susie Q by her side. A former member of the Lions Club, she showed a genuine desire to give back while staying connected with others. Her adventurous nature and love for nature were defining traits that added both excitement and tranquility to her life.
Having received a high school education, Lois grew into someone whose influence reached far beyond traditional accomplishments. She brought warmth not just to her family but also to the entire community around her, fostering unity and friendship.
Family meant everything to Lois. She is survived by her brothers James Allan Mc Cutcheon and William Earl Mc Cutcheon along with sister Faye Emily Marie Bistretzan; sisters-in-law Margaret Mc Cutcheon and Kathie Mc Cutcheon; nephews William James “Bill” Mc Cutcheon (and his wife Jackie), William “Andrew” Mc Cutcheon (and his wife Michelle), Douglas (Amy) Mc Cutcheon; nieces Cheryl Mc Cutcheon, Christa Bistretzan, Jennifer (Tom) Hoegl, Jodie (Brian) Miller, Kathie Lynn (Ray) Cutting; Anne Mc Cutcheon (Luke). She was preceded in death by brother Glen Ward Mc Cutcheon as well as parents James and Christine (nee Ward) Mc Cutcheon.
Lois spent her last moments with Susie Q close by-an illustration of their strong bond and love for one another.
The family would like to sincerely thank the first responders along with everyone who has shown love during this tough time. Lois will always be remembered for how generous she was, the warmth she radiated, and the joy she brought into every interaction.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lois’s life during visitation on June 13, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Billingsley Funeral Home located at 430 Ravenscliffe Road Huntsville ON P1H 1L7. The funeral service will take place from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM followed by a reception until 2:30 PM. Lois will then be laid to rest during an interment ceremony at Cooper Lake located at 1067 Cooper Lake Rd Dwight ON P0A 1H0 starting at 3:00 PM next to her parents.

Lois Ferne Mc Cutcheon lived passionately with kindness toward others throughout community life. Although she’s no longer here physically that void is felt deeply; however memories of all who knew her will continue bringing inspiration and comfort.
