Daniel John Yszenga, known as “Danny,” 43, from Ontario, Wisconsin, passed away on July 31, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family after bravely battling cancer. Danny was born on October 8, 1982, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Danny’s Early Years
On New Year’s Eve in 2010, as the clock struck midnight, Danny married Manda Dunwald-the love of his life. Together they created a wonderful home and were blessed with four amazing children: Mason (17), Talan (15), Hank (12), and Ivy (10). These kids were truly the heart of his life. Danny took immense pride in being their dad and cherished every moment spent with them.
After Hurricane Katrina hit hard, Danny joined a team that spent two years in Mississippi working to restore homes and churches. His tasks included concrete work and roofing to rebuilding steel structures at the Navy base. Once he returned home, he found jobs at Linear Rubber in Kenosha and then Mecca in Tomah before embracing his most rewarding role-being a stay-at-home dad. He loved raising his kids and valued every minute with his family. Whether through work or helping out friends and relatives, Danny was always there when someone needed him.
Danny had a passion for cars; whenever friends or family called needing help with repairs or brakes, he eagerly jumped into action. His garage was like a “man cave” where he enjoyed working on various projects while relaxing and tinkering away.
One of Danny’s true loves was improving the home he shared with Manda. He had an amazing talent for turning her ideas into reality, creating spaces that fit their growing family perfectly. From building pantries to finishing bedrooms downstairs and tackling numerous other projects-he put love into every detail.
Outside of home improvement projects, Danny took great care of his lawn; he even enjoyed some friendly competition with neighbors about who had the best yard! He also loved spending time outdoors-camping and fishing-but especially enjoyed unwinding around his custom firepit.
<p<Danny had eclectic taste in music; one minute he'd be listening to Eric Church and the next it would be Metallica blaring from the speakers. He relished watching NASCAR races too while cheering for the Green Bay Packers or supporting the Chicago Cubs with enthusiasm.
Danny loved cooking as well; making sure there was always enough food available when family visited brought him joy. Whether preparing meals for guests or catering to everyone’s favorites-ensuring no one left hungry showed just how much he cared about those around him.
Dan shared a special connection with his loyal dogs: Nala, Vayda, and Bear. Their companionship provided him countless moments filled with laughter and happiness-just knowing they were waiting for him at home was a simple yet profound joy.
And we can’t forget Freddy-affectionately dubbed “D.” Freddy wasn’t just any dog; he held a special place in Danny’s heart as a devoted companion whose bond brought them both joy during their time together.
Danny lived by principles of hard work combined with kindness-a generous spirit coupled with deep love for family defines who he was. He leaves behind memories full of love; strength; kindness; perseverance-and an enduring impact on all who knew him well! Above all else-he will be remembered as an outstanding husband; proud father; loving son; fun uncle-and loyal friend whose greatest delight came from caring deeply for others around him!
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for all expressions of love-including prayers! Kindness shown throughout this tough journey has meant so much along this path towards healing! Special thanks go out specifically towards Tomah Palliative Care/Hospice staff-they offered exceptional support during these trying times!

He is survived by Manda Yszenga-his beloved wife along with their children Mason, Talan, Hank & Ivy! Also surviving are mother/stepfather Roxanne(Bob Sr.)Patrick; father Larry Yszenga Sr. and Traci Sobczyk ; brother Larry Jr.(Liz)Yszenga & their kids Payton & Nolan ; stepsiblings Bob Jr.(Holly)Patrick, Amanda(Ben)Ruh,& Andrea(Brent)Leable&their children Elliana&Oliver. Also includes mother-in-law Kathy(Bob)Leis , father-in-law James(Pam)Dunwald , sisters-in-law Malory w/son Travis, Megan(Ben)Sandine&kids Lucah, Landen , Emma , Leo & Evelyn, bother-in-law Mathew Leis, and grandmother Patricia Principe along w/many cousins, aunts/uncles extended families & dear friends forever holding onto memories shared together.
Danny is preceded in death by maternal grandfathers Richard “Dick” Ruffolo&Gerald Principe ; step-grandmother Sandra Patrick ; paternal grandparents John&Alice Yszenga ; uncle John Yszenga aunt/uncle Kathy&Jack Weidner & step-aunt Mary Thomsen as well as wife’s grandmother Lora Dunwald who truly mattered greatly within Dan’s life/family circle!
Services
A Celebration Of Life ceremony will take place August 9th Ontario Wisconsin @ Square Pavilion starting from 1 PM until 4 PM. Pastor Bruce alongside family sharing Memorial starting @2PM offering light refreshments afterward. Additionally there’ll also be Memorial Service scheduled visitation occurring Bruch Funeral Home August12th Kenosha WI running between4:30-6:30 concluding short service @6:30pm inviting anyone wishing honor celebrate Dan’s incredible legacy join us both events honoring celebrating together!”
