Candidates for Perth’s 2026 Election: What to Expect

Municipal elections are set for Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, in towns across Ontario, including Perth.

As of the nomination deadline on Friday, Aug. 21 at 2 p. m., there are 18 candidates running for mayor, deputy mayor, and council positions.

Four individuals are in the race for mayor: David Bird, Stephanie Drummond, Isabel Anne Mc Rae, and Ed Mc Pherson. Jamie Dyer, Richard Schooley, and Catherine Schoular aim to become the deputy mayor.

Additionally, there are 11 candidates vying for five council seats. In Perth, councillors are elected at large; this means all voters can select from the same list of candidates.
