A tragic accident in the Township of Chatsworth resulted in the death of a 36-year-old man from Port Elgin.
On July 2, 2018, around 5:15 pm, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Grey Rd. 3 and Grey Rd. 40.
The investigation showed that a Ford vehicle heading east on Grey Rd. 40 collided with a Mercedes vehicle traveling south on Grey Rd. 3.
The sole driver of the Ford, Robert Bradley Hillis, age 36, from Port Elgin, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for today in Owen Sound.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 68-year-old man, and a female passenger aged 66 from Etobicoke were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Grey Bruce Paramedic Services, Bruce County Paramedics, the Chatsworth Fire Department, and South Bruce OPP assisted at the scene.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are continuing their investigation into this crash.
