Anita Marie Kern, 59, of Little Canada, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.

Anita was born on September 18, 1966 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Judith and Norman Wolfe. She graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1985. Anita went on to have various jobs where she showed great passion and dedication to everything she did.

Throughout her life, Anita had a kind heart and a caring nature. She was strong-willed and brought these qualities wherever she went.

Anita loved costuming and spent many years dressing up for the Minnesota Renaissance Festival as well as Mars Con. One of her happiest moments was meeting Scotty from the original Star Trek series and taking a photograph with him. She was also an active member of the U. S. S. Nokomis Star Trek Fans Club.

She cared deeply for her “fur kids” and spent her spare time volunteering at Animal Ark of Hastings, making a difference for many animals. In 2022, she adopted her cats Gizmo and Boo from their organization. Throughout her life, she had many furry family members that she loved dearly.

Anita met Todd while working at the Minnesota State Fair in 2009. She dedicated nearly 25 years of her life to working admissions there. Together with Todd, they enjoyed adventures including joining the North Star Trail Travellers Hiking Club where they visited almost every state park in Minnesota.

Todd introduced Anita to train excursions, including a memorable trip to Milwaukee on Amtrak where they attended a Twins vs. Brewers baseball game at Miller Stadium.

Anita is survived by her partner Todd Johnson; her mother Judith Wolfe; her brothers Daniel Wolfe (Shelly) and Steven Wolfe; along with many other family members and friends.

Anita was preceded in death by her father, Norman Wolfe.

Memorial donations may be made to Animal Ark of Hastings in honor of Anita Kern.

Anita will be missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, compassion, and strength will remain in the hearts of family and friends forever.
