A heartbreaking event took place on Saturday, August 16, 2026, when a woman tragically lost her life after being swept into Lake Ontario in Mississauga. Emergency responders, including Peel Regional Police, arrived at the scene following a report around 10:30 p. m. about a woman who had reportedly been “swept into the water” at Jack Darling Memorial Park. This expansive 22-acre green area is a popular spot in the Lorne Park neighborhood, located at 1180 Lakeshore Rd.
