A man from North York has struck it rich after buying a lottery ticket in Brampton.
Monday Okpeseyi won a Daily Keno 9 Pick prize of $100,000 with his ticket in the June 4 evening draw.
“I like to pick my own numbers when it comes to Daily Keno,” he shared in an Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. news release.
The rideshare driver and math professor found out about his big win at a gas station when he checked his ticket on the scanner.
He mentioned that he couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the winning amount pop up.
“I was so happy and shocked,” he expressed.
Okpeseyi then called his partner to tell her the exciting news.
“I asked her to check the winning numbers on OLG. ca. She read them aloud to me and I told her I had good news – I won! She was so excited and happy for me, and she let out a joyous scream,” he recalled.
Okpeseyi plans to use his winnings for bills, funding his daughter’s education, and saving for future investments.
“It’s a good feeling to win,” he remarked.
The lucky ticket was bought at Petro-Canada on Kennedy Road North in Brampton.
