A resident of Oshawa is in trouble after allegedly attempting to hide his actions following a hit-and-run in Markham.

The incident occurred on February 19 at around 3:41 p. m., when officers were called to the intersection of Denison Street and Featherstone Avenue after a woman was hit by a vehicle.

Authorities report that the victim was thrown onto the hood of the car and carried about 50 metres east of the intersection after being struck.

She was taken to a trauma center, where she remains in serious condition with life-changing injuries.

On March 20, police arrested the suspect and brought charges after executing search warrants at residences in Richmond Hill, Oshawa, and Toronto.

During these searches, law enforcement seized the suspect’s vehicle along with several controlled substances.

Investigators believe that the suspect tried to hide his identity and fix damage to the car.

Authorities are urging anyone who sold car parts or did repairs on this vehicle to step forward as they continue their investigation.

Nathan Kumar Persaud, 29, from Oshawa faces charges including dangerous operation causing bodily harm, dangerous operation, failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm, trafficking opioid, and possession for the purpose of trafficking x2
