1947 – 2026

We are sad to share that Michael (Mike) Kellogg, 79, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, in Inglewood, Ontario. He was the son of the late Aubrey Lynn Kellogg (RCAF) and the late Mary Anne (nee Quinn) Kellogg (WREN).

(WREN = Women’s Royal Naval Service)

Mike was born in Bradford, Ontario. His father Lynn served in the RCAF during and after WWII. In the early 1950s, Mike spent his childhood years near the RCAF Air Base in Zweibrucken, Germany until he was about 10 years old. This time allowed him to learn and speak German fluently. Afterward, the family moved to CFB North Bay in Ontario and later settled in the Toronto area.

After graduating, Mike started working in the Toronto area. Many will remember him as a staff member at The United Church of Canada or as a passionate Blue Jays fan. Others appreciated his impressive IT skills, especially his contributions to Folding@Home-a long-standing distributed computing research project that still runs thanks to dedicated volunteers like Mike.

He is predeceased by his parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A loving father and a great friend to many, he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his son Robert (Pam); daughter Barbara; two grandchildren Maya and Dylan; and many cousins across the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, and BC. He had a special fondness for his East Coast cousin Elizabeth (a. k. a. Babeth).

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Bethell Hospice House for their kindness and care during Mike’s short stay at their Care Residence in Inglewood, Ontario.

Cremation has taken place at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Gormley ON. Per Mike’s wishes, there will be no funeral or service; instead, his ashes will be scattered respectfully at a location chosen by his children.

If desired, donations can be made in memory of Mike to COPD Canada Foundation www. copdcanada. info or any charity of your choice.

May he Rest in Peace OR Requiescat in Pace (latin)

Arrangements entrusted to Highland Funeral Home and Cremation Centre
