Claire Grondin nee Ferland passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and lifelong service to her community.
Claire is now reunited with her beloved husband, Eugene Grondin (2000). She was the cherished mother of: Thérèse (Mike Taiariol), Roger (Lesli Zannetti), Yvette (Greg Glasiers), Bernard (Lori), Suzanne (Bill Beers).
She was the proud and loving grandmother of: Angeline & Matthew, Andrea & Melanie (Alex Beaudoin), Thomas, Gabrielle & Daniel, Erienne & Izzy, Piper, Emma, and Alex.
She will be watching over her great-grandson, Emrys Beaudoin.
Claire is survived by her sister, Claudette Scamehorn and was predeceased by her sisters, Lucille Harty and Jeanine Moncion. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Claire dedicated many years to shaping young minds as a teacher in the French school system. Her involvement in her community included Le Club Richelieu as well as being an avid genealogist who helped establish a library dedicated to preserving the rich history of the French community.
A woman of deep faith, Claire has always been involved in her parish community. She served with the Catholic Women’s League (CWL), parish councils, as a Eucharistic Minister, and participated in the quilting ministry to name a few. She truly believed in the power of the rosary.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated PSWs at Oak Park Terrace for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided to Claire over the final eight months of her journey. They also appreciate the PSWs from ALSO that helped her remain independent in her home.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location (11677 Tecumseh Rd East, Windsor, ON) on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 2 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm with parish prayers at 3 pm. Visiting will continue on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Our Lady of Atonement Parish (2940 Forest Glade Dr., Windsor ON) from 9 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 am. Private family only interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
