The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are on the lookout for the driver involved in a hit and run that left a pedestrian critically hurt after being hit by a vehicle on an off-ramp of Hwy. 410 in Brampton early Thursday morning.
Officers from the Mississauga detachment, along with Peel paramedics, responded to the scene just before 12:30 a. m. after receiving reports of someone being struck on the northbound 410 off-ramp leading to Steeles Avenue.
A female victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The OPP stated that investigators aim to “identify and speak with the driver of the vehicle that failed to remain at the scene. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a Jeep Cherokee, with expected damage to the front bumper grill and hood.”
The off-ramp was closed for several hours while authorities investigated the collision and reopened around 4 a. m.
