This summer, one of the biggest community gatherings in Durham Region is set to kick off on July 10-12 at Victoria Fields in Whitby.
With the Oshawa Ribfest taking a break in 2026, the Whitby Ribfest will be the go-to spot for delicious ribs and other barbecue treats. It promises live music, award-winning rib vendors, family-friendly activities, a beer garden, and fundraising for local charities in Whitby’s south end.
Put together by the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise, Ribfest features Canadian rock icons the Trews performing on Friday night, along with Feral Minks, HIGHTEENS, Bad Thieves, and Wep.
While many come for the great food and music, it’s worth noting that Whitby Ribfest primarily serves as a fundraiser for Rotary initiatives. The proceeds go towards supporting community programs and charitable causes across the region.
Since Oshawa Ribfest won’t happen this year, organizers are expecting attendance to reach tens of thousands during this three-day event.
