An 18-year-old from Etobicoke has died following a shooting incident in Midland.
Ontario Provincial Police reported that they were called to an apartment complex on King Street just after 8 p. m. on July 31 after receiving calls about gunshots.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a young man with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Tryce James.
Investigators have stated that they are considering his death as a homicide.
“At this time police believe this to be an isolated incident but are urging local residents to remain vigilant and to report any recent or ongoing suspicious activity to police,” they said in a release.
No information about suspects has been disclosed, and the details surrounding the shooting are not available at this time.
