MAY 8, 1966 – JULY 29, 2026

It is with great sadness and a mix of gratitude for a life well-lived that we share the peaceful passing of Wayne William Renkema after a short illness, surrounded by his partner Marion and their dog, Bailey Anne.

Wayne was born in Strathroy as the third son of Peter (2016) and Anne (Linstra) (2005) Renkema. He was the youngest brother to John (Linda) and Ron (Debbie) Renkema.

Wayne took immense pride in being the father to Mitchell, Lucas, Noah (fiancée Emma Ridout), and Abbey Renkema.

He considered himself fortunate to have his loving partner Marion Taylor by his side. He also embraced Marion’s daughter Mariah (Jared) Skonieczny as if she were his own. Wayne held a special bond with Marion’s parents Doreen and the late William (Bill) Taylor (2026).

Wayne is deeply loved and missed by many including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, his Vitalpoint Church family, along with friends and neighbors.

No matter where he was-be it with family or strangers-he made people feel accepted and valued. His loyal canine friend Bailey Anne adored him unconditionally until the very end.

Wayne began his medical career at Strathmere Lodge where he gained much love and respect from residents, families, and staff alike. His journey as a paramedic started in 1988 at Denning Brothers Ambulance Service in Strathroy. He continued on with Thames EMS London and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service, proudly serving his community for over 36 years. Through his dedication to helping others, he taught many students and paramedics throughout his career.

Wayne will be fondly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”

Timothy: 4.7

Visitation will take place at Haskett Funeral Home located at 456 Main Street South in EXETER on Wednesday, August 5th from 9:30 AM-1:00 PM followed by a service celebrating Wayne’s life starting at 1:30 PM. Everyone is invited to join us for interment at Strathroy Cemetery after the service.

You can view the service live or later at your convenience by visiting www. facebook. com/haskettfh.

Memorial donations to Victim Services Huron Perth, Make-A-Wish Canada or Vitalpoint Church would be greatly appreciated.
