A man from London, Ont., is facing several charges, including assault and sexual assault, following multiple incidents in the city last month where women were targeted while walking with their kids, according to a police news release.
According to police, the first incident took place on June 8. They received several 911 calls from community members between 10:30 a. m. and 12:10 p. m. reporting “erratic behaviour” by a man near Dudley Crescent and Millbank Drive.
The callers claimed the man was trailing children and displaying both assaultive and sexually aggressive behaviour towards others, as stated by police. They provided officers responding to the scene with a description of the suspect.
Police located the man in the 900 block of Southdale Road East and took him into custody.

When she confronted him, he assaulted her, according to police. About 50 minutes later, he followed another woman who was also walking with her children. In this case, he struck up a conversation before proceeding to assault and sexually assault her, according to authorities. The third incident involved a woman leaving her home with a young child at about 9:40 a. m. on Southdale Road East when she spotted the suspect approaching. According to police, he spoke with her and followed her toward a nearby school. When they reached an intersection, he assaulted and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the area. Asouth remains in custody at this time. The patrol operations investigative section has taken over this case and believes there may be additional community members who interacted with this suspect or could be potential victims.
