The situation with forest fires in northwestern Ontario is starting to heat up again.
On Saturday, six new wildfires were reported, raising the total number of active fires in the region to 130.
This follows just two new incidents on Thursday and Friday.
Luckily, all of the new blazes are small, each measuring about.01 hectares.
Of the recent fires, three have been declared extinguished, two are being managed, and one remains uncontrolled.
Regarding ongoing wildfires, Ontario’s largest fire ever, Thunder Bay 36 has seen an increase in firefighting personnel on-site.
Additional crews from Alberta Wildfire have been assigned to assist.
