Four months after Hamilton hosted the 2026 Juno Awards and Juno Week events, the numbers are in.
On July 23, Juno organizers CARAS (Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) shared their estimates on how the Junos impacted Hamilton, Ontario, and its surroundings economically.
According to CARAS, the events brought in $23.1 million in economic activity across Ontario, with a local impact of $17.2 million in Hamilton-reportedly a record for any host city of the Junos.
Taking place from March 26-29, 2026, the Junos attracted over 7,200 visitors from outside Hamilton during that period. CARAS estimates there were more than 16,250 unique attendees and over 28,000 participations across various related events and activities. More than 3,000 music industry delegates, artists, and media were present.
Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath says that ”The Juno Awards showcased the very best of Hamilton. Thousands of visitors experienced our city’s music, culture and hospitality while local businesses welcomed new customers. That’s a legacy our whole community can be proud of.”

2026 marked the sixth time Hamilton had hosted the Juno Awards and the first time since 2015. This journey began back in 1995 when the Junos transitioned from being an industry-only event to a large-scale publicly attended arena event for the first time. Those initial awards took place at Copps Coliseum-the downtown venue that’s undergone significant upgrades since then and is now known as TD Coliseum where this year’s awards were held.
Other key venues in Hamilton hosting Juno events this year included the Hamilton Convention Centre, The Music Hall, Bridgeworks and Mills Hardware.
In comparison to past events, Vancouver’s Juno Awards Week in 2018 generated about $10.9 million in economic activity within British Columbia.
