Four men from London have been charged following a provincewide investigation into child exploitation that led to 63 arrests throughout Ontario.
The Ontario Provincial Police reported that the investigation, known as Project Time, involved collaboration among 25 police services and resulted in identifying 51 victims.
Authorities indicated that officers filed 213 charges, while another 154 investigations are still active.
The OPP described the investigation as a “coordinated provincial effort to identify and apprehend those who prey on children,” focusing on individuals creating, possessing, and distributing child sexual abuse material.
London police detained four men aged between 23 and 33. Three of these individuals face charges for possessing child sexual abuse material, while the fourth man, aged 33, has been charged with creating such material.
The OPP disclosed many names of those charged across the province but did not reveal the identities of the four men arrested in London. The London police stated they would not disclose the names of those accused.
Publication bans are often implemented in cases involving child exploitation to protect the identities of victims or complainants.
