Ontario – Linda Grace Hout passed away on February 13th, 2026, in Ontario, NY. She was born on June 18th, 1947, in Irvona, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late James Denning and Florene (Miles) (Denning) Pitcock of Marshallville, OH.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, Danny; brothers Robert Denning and James (Charlene) Denning; four sons: Troy (Valerie Vogelsong) Hout, Travis (Carol) Hout, Stephen (Katie) Hout, and Richardt Andreassen (Marlene Krogh) from Silkeborg, Denmark; five grandchildren: Courtney, Ellie, Carson, Quintin, and Cooper; along with many nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her father James; mother Florene; sister-in-law Carol; and niece Michelle.
Linda made Marshallville, Ohio her home at a young age. She graduated from Smithville High School in 1965. The friendships she built with classmates and the adventures with the Yo-Yo’s were some of her most cherished memories. After earning her degree at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, she enjoyed a fulfilling career in dentistry. She began working immediately in Ohio and later retired from dentistry in Bemus Point, NY. Her patients meant a lot to her; she loved watching kids grow up and valued the connections she made throughout her life.
In retirement, Linda pursued her love for antiques with great enthusiasm. Her keen eye led her to find unique purses and jewelry-especially gold-which became a favorite treasure hunt for her. She developed this passion further by helping others through hosting estate sales. Linda remained active within the antique community by participating at the Westfield Antique Shop and HFM Emporium while attending local auctions.
Linda’s life was filled with conversation; she loved chatting with family and friends both on the phone and face-to-face. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Through her membership in Beta Sigma Phi sorority she created lasting friendships full of laughter. A great listener herself, she offered support not just through kind words but also actions whenever someone needed help. Her caring nature showed how much she loved those around her often spoiling them too! As “Mimi,” she delightedly embraced being a grandmother who eagerly participated in activities ranging from beach trips to thrift shopping with all of her grandkids.
Traveling across the country with Danny brought them close together while creating wonderful memories hosting family gatherings filled with laughter over food drinks & good times as guests visited Western New York’s beautiful spots like vineyards ski slopes & snowmobile trails! The house came alive when it was full of visitors! Linda passionately supported local athletes cheering loudly for Wayne Central & Westfield teams-from Little League right up through college sports-and loved attending games near & far including following alongside Danny while watching their son play basketball at Penn State Behrend which were among some favorite moments shared!
Linda had an open heart full of love not just for people but also for animals & democratic values within our country’s processes too! Passionate about politics she’d attend campaigns stay informed about current events while never hesitating to express opinions regarding topics close to heart-always balancing conviction against kindness showing respect towards differing viewpoints held by others! With resilience humor determination carried throughout life accompanied always by warmth hugs kisses left behind is fond remembrance felt deeply across all lives she’s touched!
Though we feel heavy-hearted now we find comfort knowing how much love has been shared leaving behind a beautiful legacy amongst everyone fortunate enough know Linda well! Please join friends & family honoring Linda’s memory at Westfield VFW Saturday February 28th from 3 PM till 6 PM-a private burial will follow afterwards taking place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery-in lieu flowers please consider donating either Westfield Little League Northern Chautauqua Canine or simply spread kindness paying it forward just like she’d do!
