Head over to Markham for one of the most delicious festivals in the GTA.

Taste of Asia kicks off Markham’s summer with exciting cultural acts and mouthwatering food!

This weekend, Kennedy Road will close between Steeles Avenue and Denison Street for three days packed with activities, leading up to Canada Day from June 26 to 28.

The event will host more than 150 food vendors serving a variety of dishes, featuring Asian-fusion meals, sweets, and fan favorites like crispy boneless chicken, rose tteokbokki, and bubble tea. Some of the vendors include Hibiki Japanese Cuisine, Wu Ba Eats, and Mango Like Desserts.

In addition to tasty treats, festival-goers can enjoy a series of cultural performances showcasing the vibrant traditions of Asian communities both in Canada and around the world. Attendees can look forward to a blend of traditional and modern dance, music performances, and visual arts featuring local talents as well as international artists. One highlight is Hong Kong actor Philip Keung performing.

You’ll also find fun mini-games, activities for kids, a carnival zone, live shows, traditional crafts demonstrations, and interactive workshops throughout the festival.

This popular event began in 2003 to help revitalize the local economy after the SARS outbreak while celebrating Canada’s diverse culture and promoting unity among different community groups.
