Fireworks
The city will host a fireworks display at Ashbridges Bay Park located at 1561 Lake Shore Blvd. E., starting at 10 p. m. You can also see fireworks at these locations: Milliken Park, 4325 Mc Cowan Rd. at 10 p. m. Amesbury Park, 151 Culford Rd. at 10 p. m. Stan Wadlow Park, 888 Cosburn Ave. at 10 p. m. Mel Lastman Square, 5100 Yonge St. at 10 p. m. Downsview Park: on its festival terrace located at 70 Canuck Avenue around 10 p. m. Harbourfront Centre: visitors can enjoy the fireworks along the waterfront from HTO Park to the west or Harbour Square Park to the east between 10:45 p. m. and 11 p. m. No fireworks display is planned for Nathan Phillips Square. The city states that residents aged 18 and older can set off fireworks on their private property without needing a permit before 11 p. m., but they aren’t allowed in parks, beaches, streets or parking lots not owned by them. “Those setting off fireworks must be mindful of their surroundings and not discharge fireworks where they may be a nuisance or pose a risk of fire, injury or damage to any person or property,” warns the city.Family fun
The city has arranged free family programming across several locations. Nathan Phillips Square will host live music performances as well as dance acts, a citizenship ceremony, kids’ activities, and soccer sessions from noon until six o’clock pm. Additionally, Nathan Phillips Square will have mini pitches available for trying out soccer skills as part of the city’s program.
