Three men from the Greater Toronto Area have been taken into custody and charged after authorities seized drugs valued at around $4.7 million during a police operation investigating drug trafficking between Ontario and Quebec.

On Friday, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announced that officers confiscated 46 kilograms of suspected cocaine as part of the operation.

The accused include a 34-year-old from Acton, Ont., a 32-year-old from Georgetown, Ont., and another 32-year-old from Oshawa, all facing charges for possession of drugs with intent to distribute.

The man from Acton has also been charged with trafficking cocaine and possessing property obtained through crime exceeding $5,000.

The OPP stated in their announcement that the investigation was initiated by the Provincial Guns and Gang Enforcement Team after receiving information from Sûreté du Québec back in March 2026.

Investigators uncovered a drug trafficking network operating within the GTA that involved residents of Halton Region.

On June 4, police executed five search warrants at locations in Acton, Georgetown, Erin, and Oshawa. Along with the cocaine, they recovered:

400 bottles of liquid codeine (100 ml).1,400 oxycodone 80 mg tablets.2,500 oxycodone 5 mg tablets. Six bottles of liquid hydrocodone (500 ml). Cell phones. A quantity of Canadian currency.

All three individuals have been released on bail; however, the men from Acton and Georgetown are scheduled to appear in court on July 10, while the Oshawa man will be in court on July 17.

The Provincial Guns and Gang Enforcement Team consists of members from 20 different police services across Ontario and Quebec along with the RCMP. They focus on disrupting criminal gang activities through intelligence-led investigations related to drug trafficking. The team is also dedicated to decreasing illegal firearms in Ontario.

If anyone has information regarding illegal firearms or issues related to illicit drug possession or trafficking, they’re encouraged to reach out to the OPP.
