Local leaders gathered in Petrolia for a ribbon-cutting event to mark the arrival of $42,500 worth of new baseball equipment.
The funds were used to set up three bleachers and a batting cage at the baseball fields in Greenwood Park.
Petrolia’s Mayor R. Brad Loosley and local Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Bob Bailey attended the ceremony on Saturday.
“I am so pleased to see this project complete with the support of the Province of Ontario. I would like to extend our thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their support of Petrolia. This will be a great addition at Morrison Field,” said Loosley.
The grant was awarded in June 2025, through the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). Its goal is to create healthy and vibrant communities throughout Ontario, with almost $107 million invested across the province.
