Mr. Jack Alberts, aged 101, who lived in Thunder Bay, passed away quietly at St. Joseph’s Hospital on June 21, 2026. He was born in Zutphen, Holland, Netherlands on March 10, 1925. He married Bena on March 31, 1948 and they moved to Canada in 1953.

Jack worked as the Electronics Teacher at Westgate High School until his retirement in 1989. He was involved with Westfort Kiwanis and also contributed to the Westgate Key Club. Both Jack and Bena enjoyed many years of retirement in Alamo Texas until her passing in 2017.

He is survived by his daughter Marj (John Johnson), grandsons Kyle (Helene) and Aaron (Jennifer), along with great-grandson Aidan (Ryley). His son Jack (Lee) has grandson Daniel and great-grandson Dylan. Son John (Shelly, who predeceased him) leaves granddaughter Tiffany.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes, there will be no service held and cremation has already taken place. He will be laid to rest beside Bena at a later time.

I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Kelly and Ross Robertson for all of your generous support for Dad. Also, thank you to the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital on 4 South for the outstanding care and compassion you provided while he was with you. A special thank you goes out to Roberta for everything you did for him.

Condolences may be made through www. nwfainc. com
