Authorities in Durham Region report that a 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the death of a man during a brawl outside a Tim Hortons in Oshawa, Ont., on Saturday.
Officers responded to a call about an armed individual near Simcoe Street and Winchester Road just after 8 p. m. and discovered an injured man who was later declared dead at the scene.
According to police, a confrontation took place between two groups of men outside the Tim Hortons, resulting in fatal injuries for the 23-year-old victim.
The suspect turned himself into authorities in Oshawa on Monday and was taken into custody without any issues.
Police have identified the suspect from Brampton, Ont., and he is facing charges of second-degree murder.
Investigators believe this incident was isolated and there are no threats to public safety.
