A man has lost his life due to an industrial incident at a construction site in Brampton on Monday (June 22) afternoon.
Emergency teams were dispatched to the area of Kennedy Road South and Clarence Street just before 4 p. m. after receiving reports that a worker had fallen into a construction hole at the location.
Peel Regional Police stated that first responders quickly arrived to help the victim, but unfortunately, the adult male was declared dead at the scene.
Investigators have not provided details about how deep the hole was or what caused the fall.
Police cordoned off the area while officials began their investigation. As is standard procedure in workplace fatalities, the Ontario Ministry of Labour is leading the inquiry and will collaborate with Peel Regional Police to find out what occurred.
Road closures were set up around the site Monday evening as investigators collected evidence.
No further information about the victim has been released.
