Woman Approached by Suspicious Vehicle in Whitby

Police are seeking information following an incident where a woman was directed into a suspicious vehicle in Whitby.

This occurred on Wednesday around 4:00 p. m., close to Cochrane Street and Dundas Street West.

According to officers, the woman was seen walking north on Cochrane Street near Beech Street West when a questionable vehicle entered a driveway, blocking her way on the sidewalk.

A man got out from the rear cab of the vehicle, and she was later seen getting into the truck. She is described as White, between 20-25 years old, and wearing all black clothing.

The vehicle is reported to be a black 4-door Chevrolet pick-up truck.

If anyone was in the area between 3:30 p. m. and 4:30 p. m. and has cellphone, dash cam, or surveillance footage-or any details about this incident-they are encouraged to reach out to D/Cst. Careen of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 x 1805.
