Law enforcement in Windsor-Essex is gearing up for a motorcycle event happening this week.
Windsor police and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are set to have extra patrols on duty from Thursday through Sunday. This is in response to a planned gathering of around 750 individuals associated with the Hells Angels and other motorcycle clubs from across Ontario and Canada.
“The community can expect an increased and visible police presence during this time as officers monitor activities and respond to public safety concerns,” read a release from Windsor police.
Police mentioned they aren’t aware of any potential issues, but will be focused on reducing disruptions and ensuring everyone’s safety.
“Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays or increased congestion in some areas. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use caution, and follow posted signage and directions from officers,” read the release.
Anyone witnessing any suspicious activity should call Windsor police at (519) 258-6111, or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. For emergencies, call 911.
