With sunny skies and a cool breeze, the 49th annual Detroit Free Press Marathon brought out a record number of runners in both Detroit and Windsor on Sunday.
Many runners crossed into Canada for the marathon and half-marathon events, while hundreds of Windsor locals gathered along Riverside Drive and in downtown Windsor to support them.
“It’s been so nice to see so many people out,” said Dionne Shepley who cheered on her nephew along Riverside Drive. “It’s a beautiful, sunny day, thankfully not too hot.”
