Two individuals have been taken into custody and face charges following a police search in Brockton that resulted in the seizure of two firearms.
As per South Bruce OPP, an investigation prompted law enforcement to carry out a search warrant at a location on Bruce Road 15 on June 25. During the operation, officers confiscated two firearms along with five imitation weapons. They also recovered a quantity of ammunition at the scene.
A 43-year-old and a 25-year-old, both residents of Brockton, were apprehended on-site. Each has been charged with two counts of careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and awareness of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The older individual was additionally charged with two counts for failing to comply with a release order. They are currently being held for a bail hearing and were later remanded into custody, with their court date set for July 22 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.
The younger individual was released afterward and is expected back in court on August 5 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.
