The Ontario authorities has dedicated $18.8 million for main street development initiatives in Windsor, aimed toward bettering site visitors circulation and opening up new dwelling development.
The funding can be used to widen Banwell Street, lengthen Wyandotte Road East, and undertake enhancements on the Banwell Street-McNorton Road intersection and facilitate development of 1000’s of latest houses within the space.
“These upgrades will not only facilitate the construction of up to 3,030 new homes, but they will also enhance the overall transportation network, improving mobility and connectivity for residents in our growing community,” mentioned Andrew Dowie, Windsor-Tecumseh MPP.
Funding comes from the Housing-Enabling Core Servicing Stream beneath the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program, which incorporates $400 million to assist construct, restore, and keep municipal roads, bridges, and culverts that may promote housing progress in communities throughout Ontario.
“Ensuring that new developments are connected to reliable and convenient roadways, improving mobility and connectivity for our residents,” Dowie mentioned.
All three initiatives come as that part of town is experiencing progress and elevated site visitors as a result of close by NextStar Power electrical car battery manufacturing plant, which is on the intersection of Banwell Street and the E. C. Row Expressway.
