A 14-year-old boy on a bicycle was seriously hurt after colliding with a pickup truck driver in Whitby.
The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) reported that the accident took place just before 9 p. m. on Wednesday near Garden Street and Manning Road.
The teenager was riding his bike southbound in the crosswalk when he was hit by a pickup truck making a right turn. He was taken to a trauma center in Toronto with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the driver, a 40-year-old woman, stayed at the scene.
Officials are still investigating the details of the collision, and inquiries are ongoing.
