UPDATE: Two right lanes have been re-opened.

Due to a diesel fuel spill on the highway, police and emergency services decided to shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Brock Street in Whitby after a crash involving a transport truck with a damaged diesel tank.

Cleanup is currently in progress, and drivers are being informed that they can get back onto the highway using the Brock Street westbound on ramp.

More updates to follow.
