A social media update from December 2024 stated that the foundations for the pools have been laid securely; concrete floors and masonry for the arena are taking shape; refrigeration piping for the arena rink is being installed; and mechanical as well as electrical systems are being developed.
When finished, sustainability features will make this complex Canada’s first zero carbon building along with LEED Gold certification that includes a twin pad arena, gymnasium, and aquatics facility, according to town officials.
Additionally, there are plans for a nearby outdoor park spanning 13 acres that will feature pickleball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, a multi-purpose sports field, playgrounds, along with a skatepark and pump track.
