Family Day Hours in Waterloo Region

This Monday marks Family Day in Ontario, so expect some offices and businesses to be closed.

Regular curbside waste collection will still happen in Waterloo region. Residents who usually have pickups on Monday should place their items at the curb at the usual time.

Grand River Transit will follow a holiday service schedule on Monday.

Banks and government offices are likely to be closed. There won’t be any mail delivery on Monday either. Several businesses will also shut down, including grocery stores, The Beer Store, and LCBO.

Waterloo region

All regional administrative offices will remain closed.

Warming spaces will be available at 150 Main St., Cambridge from 8:30 a. m. to 4:30 p. m., and at 150 Frederick St., Kitchener from 10:30 a. m. to 4:30 p. m.

Waste transfer stations for residential drop-off in Cambridge and Waterloo will not be open.

Public health offices are closed.

All branches of the Region of Waterloo Public Library are closed.

Schneider Haus, Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, and Mc Dougall Cottage in Cambridge will operate from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m.

The administration for Sunnyside Seniors’ Services and the Sunnyside Wellness Centre will be closed.

The Community Alzheimer Day Programs along with the Young Onset Dementia Association will also close for the day.

The Seniors’ Services Overnight Stay Program will remain open.

Cambridge

The city hall in Cambridge is closed today.

All branches of the Cambridge Public Library are closed as well.

The community centres David Durward Centre, William E. Pautler, and Allan Reuter Centre won’t open their doors today either.

Ted Wake Centre is operating from 6 a. m. to 10 p. m.

You can visit Cambridge Centre for the Arts from 1:00 p. m. until 4:00 p. m.

The pool at W. G. Johnson Centre is open from 10 a. m. until 2 p. m., but there won’t be any swimming lessons offered today. The pool at John Dolson Centre is available from noon until 4 p. m., but swimming lessons won’t take place there either. Arenas Duncan Mc Intosh and Dickson Centre are both closed today.

You can catch a game at Galt Arena where it’s hosting a Cambridge Redhawks game at 1 p. m., followed by a Cambridge Hornets game at 6:30 p. m.

If you’re looking for some skating fun, Hespeler Memorial Arena is open for Family Day skate from 11:00 a. m. to1:00 pm.

Kitchener

Kitchener city hall remains open; however, no in-person services are being provided today.

All Kitchener Public Library branches won’t be open, nor will Cameron Heights Pool.

The Centreville Chicopee Community Centre has decided to close its doors.

No operations happening out of Mill Courtland Community Centre (located inside Rockway Mennonite Church) as it’s also closed.

The Rockway Community Centre isn’t opening up , but community arenas are accessible between8a m. to10pm.

If you’d like indoor walking , Activa Sportsplex walking track welcomes visitors between7 am. to10 pm.

Kitchener Market invites families for celebration activities between10 am. and2 pm. on Family Day.

Breithaupt Centrewillbeopenfrom8a m. to7 :15pm. with family-friendly programming; regular programs aren’t taking place.

Bridgeport Community Centreisalsoopenfrom9 :30 am. to2 pm. with Family Daymagicshowby Bridgeport Community Associationbetween11am. and1 pm. Regularprogramsarenotrunning.

Chandler Mowat Community Centrewelcomescustomersfrom10am. till3pm.; regular programming won’t runtoday.

Country Hills Community Centrewillbeopenfrom11am. till7pm.; however, no standardprogrammingisavailable.

Doon Pioneer Park Community Centrewilloperatefrom9am. until5pm. withoutscheduledactivities
