WASAGA BEACH – The Town of Wasaga Beach is excited about a significant achievement for local students, families, and community members as the Province of Ontario contributes an extra $4.5 million in funding and gives the green light to the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board to move forward with the construction tender for the Town’s first high school and community hub.

This initiative is backed by a total investment of $64.9 million, which includes $62.2 million from provincial funds and a $2.7 million contribution from the Town of Wasaga Beach aimed at enhancing theater facilities that will create more opportunities for both students and residents.

The ambitious project will provide 1,008 new student spaces, 49 licensed childcare spaces, along with shared amenities like a 300-seat theater and a track-and-field facility.

The new school marks the first high school to be built in Wasaga Beach. It will function as a vital community center, facilitating student education while offering expanded opportunities for residents through shared spaces designed for learning, recreation, and the arts. Additionally, it will assist local families by keeping more students within the community and reducing daily out-of-town commutes for around 800 high school students.
