SCDSB elevates building Wasaga Beach high school amid top capital priorities

The City of Wasaga Seaside has by no means been residence to a highschool, with roughly 1,000 college students bused to neighbouring colleges, however that will quickly change.

Throughout a board assembly Wednesday night time, the proposal for the beachfront city’s first-ever public highschool was elevated from twelfth to second place on the board’s capital priorities checklist.


The choice follows the provincial authorities’s pledge within the spring to supply funding for a kindergarten to Grade 12 campus for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District College Board in Wasaga Seaside.


It’s anticipated to open in 2027.


“One yr in the past, the City of Wasaga Seaside went from having no excessive colleges to now, probably, having two excessive colleges. The province has not but authorised funding for a public highschool in Wasaga Seaside.
