The town reports that results were delayed last night due to the contractor handling voting services.
Brian Smith has been re-elected as mayor of Wasaga Beach.
The election results from the nearby town were released early this morning after a delay caused by the voting service provider.
Smith secured 51 percent of the vote, totaling 6,102 votes in the mayoral election.
Leslie Farkas followed in the mayoral contest with 3,384 votes (28.4 percent), while Mark Winegarden garnered 2,141 votes (18 percent) and Marilyn (Raven) Broughton received 277 votes.
Mike Foley was elected as deputy mayor. He recently completed a term as a trustee for Collingwood and Wasaga Beach on the Simcoe County District School Board.
Foley earned 6,107 votes, representing 52 percent. His opponent Tanya Snell received 5,639 votes or 48 percent.
Incumbents Joe Belanger (5,700 votes), Richard White (5,251 votes), Ellen Timmins (5,499 votes), and Sasha-Rose Dileo (5,832 votes) will continue serving as councillors.
