Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have reported that they made two arrests and issued a province-wide warrant for a third individual related to a 2020 attempted murder in Vaughan and a homicide case from 2021 in Bolton.
On Nov. 12, 2020, around 6:30 p. m., York Regional Police responded to reports of a shooting on Steeles Avenue West in Vaughan. One person was found at the scene and taken to the hospital.
A little over two months later, on Jan. 18, 2021, Caledon OPP officers were dispatched to a home on Harvest Moon Drive in Bolton.
Authorities say two suspects entered the residence and shot two people inside. One of the victims was the same individual who was injured during the shooting in Vaughan. The other victim, identified as 65-year-old Giovanni Costa from Bolton, was declared dead at the scene.
This past Tuesday, police apprehended Christopher Brown, a 28-year-old from Barrie. He faces charges including attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, discharging a firearm with intent, and possession of firearms while prohibited.
The following day, officers arrested Neheniah Tirfe, aged 25 from Toronto. He has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.
Both suspects are set to appear in court on Thursday.
