One person has been taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle accident in Vaughan on Highway 427.

One person has been taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle accident in Vaughan on Highway 427.

Ontario provincial police report that the northbound off-ramp of Highway 427 leading to Rutherford Road was closed following a crash involving a passenger vehicle.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

Authorities mentioned that one individual was transported to the hospital, stating “the lone occupant of the passenger vehicle sustained non-life threatening or life altering injuries.”

Drivers were advised to steer clear of the area and find alternate routes.

In an update provided shortly before noon, police confirmed that roads in the vicinity have reopened.
