The elections on November 3 will determine if Republicans keep control of the US House of Representatives and the Senate, or if Democrats take over, which could influence Trump’s last two years in office, including potential investigations into his administration.
Many polls indicate that Democrats are leading in crucial House races and are also vying for control of the Senate, as Americans worry about soaring gas prices and Trump’s ongoing conflict with Iran.
However, Trump spoke to reporters outside the White House, expressing confidence in his party’s chances and downplaying any signs that some Republicans are pulling away from him as the campaign enters its final stretch.
“You love me, and I love them,” he remarked, with Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson by his side.
Trump announced that he would soon start what he called “literally a 32-day tour” across various states, including visits to Texas and Ohio this week.
“Just so you understand, they all want me to go. I’m one person. They all want me to go campaign,” he added.
The push for campaigning comes later than Trump’s advisers originally planned due to a White House agenda that had been focused largely on foreign policy issues and the Iran situation throughout much of the year.
Some Republican candidates have welcomed Trump’s participation while others have chosen to focus on local matters and their own achievements as they navigate a challenging political landscape.
