Mason Jenkins, a 49-year-old man serving time for the 1998 murder of his sister in Chatham, has escaped from the Collins Bay Institution in Kingston, Ontario. Jenkins was discovered missing from the minimum-security unit on September 24 during a regular inmate count by Correctional Service Canada. A nationwide warrant has been issued for his capture. He is described as a white male, standing 5’9″ tall and weighing 255 lbs, with brown eyes and a shaved head.
Although he grew up in Chatham, he’s known to visit the Kitchener area frequently. His escape has led to an extensive manhunt as authorities continue their search for him.
