Here’s a rundown of what’s open and what’s closed across southern Ontario towns and cities this Labour Day:
Mississauga
Square One Shopping Centre will be open along with Walmart Supercentre, The Rec Room and The Food District. Whole Foods Square One and T& T Supermarket are also available. Residents can enjoy Celebration Square and its fountain as well as Rabba grocery stores, select Beer Store locations, the YMCA health center in Mississauga plus restaurants and bars that typically operate on Mondays (be sure to confirm), the Mississauga Chinese Centre and movie theatres.
On Sept. 7th, non-emergency federal, provincial and municipal offices (including City Hall) will not be operating. Banks and libraries will also be closed.
Canada Post won’t be working (no mail pickup or delivery), so there’ll be no waste collection on Labour Day. Garbage and recycling services will take place one day later than usual while Community Recycling Centres remain closed.
Mi Way will run according to a regular Sunday schedule while GO Transit follows a Saturday schedule.
Brampton

This Labour Day residents can go to Bramalea City Centre along with smaller grocery stores (like Rabba), most Shoppers Drug Mart locations plus many restaurants that are usually open on Mondays (confirm beforehand), movie theatres as well as select recreational facilities such as parks or playgrounds with YMCA locations available too.
