You don’t need to travel far to discover warm, sparkling waters and soft white sands this summer.

One of the warmest beach getaways in Ontario is only 2 hours away from Toronto. It boasts smooth shores, shallow waters, and a chill atmosphere filled with summer fun.

With its tranquil, clear waters and breathtaking sunsets, this beach is an ideal spot for a day trip or a weekend retreat packed with swimming, sunbathing, and lakeside relaxation.

Bay Beach, also referred to as Crystal Beach, stands out as one of the most loved summer destinations along Lake Erie. Situated in Fort Erie, this beach features soft white sand and shallow waters that create perfect swimming conditions during the hot months.

This beach has been recognized as one of Canada’s best by Narcity readers, and it’s easy to see why. With its sandy shoreline and azure waters, Bay Beach provides a tropical vibe without ever leaving Ontario.

As noted by Niagara Homes, it has “some of the finest soft sand and warmest freshwater swimming in Ontario.”

You can enjoy your time swimming or lounging by the water while taking advantage of amenities like modern washrooms, a playground, a pavilion, and an accessible ramp leading down to the beach.

Once you’ve soaked up enough sun, you can stroll into the nearby Crystal Beach community just steps away from the shore. This quaint area is full of local cafes, eateries, ice cream shops, and boutiques-perfect for turning a simple beach day into an exciting summer adventure.

Bay Beach is part of Niagara’s South Coast-a region often called Ontario’s “unofficial beach capital.”

If you’re eager to explore more sandy beaches nearby, Nickel Beach in Port Colborne is another great option to include on your summer list.

A day pass is needed for entry to Bay Beach and can be bought online or at the entrance. Passes cost $5 per person from Monday through Thursday and $10 per person from Friday through Sunday including holidays.

If you’re after warm lake waters and soft white sands without needing a flight-this Ontario beach is definitely worth checking out.
