Provincial police report that a third individual has died following a two-car accident east of Tillsonburg.
Emergency responders arrived around 4 p. m. on Friday to the scene of the crash involving a pickup truck and an SUV on Mall Road, located between Oxford Road 13 and Middletown Line in Norwich Township, according to Oxford County OPP.
The two passengers in the SUV, aged 60 and 77, both from Princeton in Oxford County, were taken to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead, said the OPP.
The driver of the vehicle, who is 75 years old, was airlifted to a London hospital but later succumbed to injuries, according to police.
The OPP did not disclose the origin of the SUV driver.
“Our thoughts are with the deceased family and loved ones at this time,” OPP Const. Matthew Foster stated in a video shared on social media.
Princeton is a small town in Blandford-Blenheim within Oxford County.
The 27-year-old driver of the pickup was treated at a hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police reported.
Investigators closed part of Mall Road for several hours. The road was reopened shortly after midnight on Saturday.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by police.
“Once we have more updates, we will provide them when available,” Foster said.
