Canadian punk band the Flatliners are back with a new album and an exciting lineup of tour dates. They’ve announced Cold World, set to drop on May 8 through Equal Vision Records / Dine Alone Records. Produced by Chris Cresswell along with the band, this album follows their 2022 release, New Ruin, showcasing a sharper sound and clearer vision.
Leading the way is their new single “Good, You?,” an energetic track that humorously critiques toxic masculinity and the shared unease around being vulnerable. Accompanying the song is a music video directed by Jeff Powers that channels the vibrant style of ’90s music videos, mixing nostalgia with their current vibe.
“We wanted to pay homage to the greatest era of music videos we have ever known – the one we grew up in,” the band shared. “Our aim was to make a ’90s-style video, portraying the album artwork in all its glory; to bring things back to a time where you could suspend disbelief and just let your eyes and ears devour those next three minutes… A piece of nowstalgia that feels like it has a strong foot in the past, and another firmly planted in the present.”
To support Cold World, the Flatliners have planned an extensive series of headline shows and festival appearances across North America and Europe this spring and summer. The tour includes Canadian stops in Kingston, Oshawa, Tillsonburg, Guelph, St. Catharines, Winnipeg, and Trois-Rivières.
