CROUCHER, Robert (Bob) – He passed away peacefully at the Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe on Wednesday, November 17th, 2010, at the age of 72. He was a loving husband to Carol Croucher (nee Dobson) of Simcoe. Bob was a caring father and grandfather to Scott Croucher (Janna) from Fort St. James, B. C., and their children Oscar, Ezra & Theo; Kelly Cole (Scott) of Tillsonburg with their kids Lauren, Haleigh, Tori & Catie; Mark Builder (Lisa) in Oregon, USA; Brad Builder (Sheila) from London and their children Jack & Blake; Sarah Mau (Tim) in Guelph with their kids Maren & Anderson. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings June Cousens (late Ron – 1991) of Ottawa, Judy Bint (Paul) from Simcoe & Ross Croucher (Pat) of Hamilton along with his sister-in-law Dorothy Croucher of Port Carling. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews & extended family. He was predeceased by his sister Marilyn (1935) and brothers John (1949) & Kenneth (2009). Bob began his career in policing back in 1963 with the Simcoe Police Service. In 1967 he joined the Ontario Provincial Police but returned to the Simcoe Police shortly thereafter. When the Haldimand Norfolk Regional Police was established in 1974, he earned a promotion to Sergeant. Before retiring in 1996, Bob transitioned from police Sergeant to a civilian role working for the force in the courts. Friends are invited to share memories of Bob with his family at JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL located at 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Saturday, November 20th, 2010 from 1-4 p. m. A memorial service will take place at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church located at 85 Lot St. Simcoe on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p. m., officiated by Rev. Ian Shaw. The interment of ashes will occur at a later date. Those wishing to make donations can consider the NGH Palliative Care Unit, the Ontario March of Dimes or St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church.
