The Thunder Bay OPP is looking into a deadly single vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning.

The incident happened just before 2 am on Highway 11/17 close to Spruce River Road in Shuniah.

A 46-year-old driver from Thunder Bay was the only person in the vehicle.

Several lanes on Highway 11/17 were shut down for a number of hours between Spruce River Road and the Terry Fox Lookout Road while the OPP carried out their investigation.

Those lanes have now been reopened.

If anyone has information or video footage regarding this incident, please reach out to the Thunder Bay OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
